Stabbing leaves Vancouver man in life-threatening condition

Police said the man was stabbed early Sunday morning, April 26, near East Hastings Street and Main Street. They are asking the public to come forward if they have information about the crime.

A 27-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after a stabbing on the Downtown Eastside Sunday, Vancouver police said.

Investigators are asking the public to come forward if they have information about the crime.

Police said in a statement the man was stabbed early Sunday morning, April 26, near East Hastings Street and Main Street.

The victim made it to Dunlevy and East Hastings streets where he was picked up and taken to hospital.

The victim is now in hospital "battling for his life," VPD Sgt. Aaron Roed said in the statement.

Roed said the victim is expected to survive, but police have few details to go on.

"We got very little information from the person who was stabbed," Roed said. "That's why we're reaching out to the public. We know someone knows something."
