Video shows car striking pedestrian in New Westminster hit and run
67-year-old woman was injured while crossing the street on Dec. 29
New Westminster police have released video of a hit and run crash that injured a woman last month, in the hope of identifying the person responsible.
The video shows a white Cadillac striking a female pedestrian at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street on the night of Dec. 29. The driver can be seen getting out of his car and standing over the prone woman after the collision.
"We are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the driver to come forward. We are also asking the driver to give us a call," Sgt. Jeff Scott said in a news release.
"NWPD Investigators are continuing, and with the release of this video, we are hoping that the driver will come forward."
On the night of the crash, a witness remained on the scene to help the victim, but the driver responsible left when firefighters arrived.
The 67-year-old woman who was struck had to be treated in hospital, but her injuries weren't life threatening.
