Special weather statement issued for B.C.'s South Coast
Environment Canada says snow is a possibility throughout the weekend
Snow in December, January, February ... March?
A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada for Metro Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island, as a low pressure system brings the chance for snow this weekend, beginning on Friday night and increasing on Saturday and Sunday.
"A cold and unsettled air mass will begin to settle over the South Coast late Friday and remain in place through the weekend," wrote Environment Canada on Thursday evening.
It says snowfall could happen in various places across the region due to the unsettled nature of the system. While no accumulation estimates were provided, Environment Canada is advising the public to be prepared for sudden spurts of flurries.
"Temperatures should return to near seasonal values early next week. In the meantime, don't put your snow shovels away just yet".
