Fire in Penticton suburb damages homes, triggers short term evacuation
The City of Penticton reports the fire is "being managed effectively" and damage was contained to the roofs of two homes.

The City of Penticton says a suburban fire is being managed effectively after residents were ordered from their homes Thursday morning.
The city reported on Facebook that the fire damaged the roofs of two homes on Westwood Drive in the West Bench neighbourhood. The fire burned brush and three fallen trees.

After the fire broke out at around 9 a.m. PT RCMP officers went door-to-door telling people to get out of their homes.
Both city and wildfire firefighters arrived on the scene. Residents were allowed back into the area around noon.
It's unclear what started the fire.
