Three backcountry incidents keep STARS busy over May long weekend
Two ATV-related accidents, one hiking injury send three to hospital
It's been a busy May long in the backcountry for STARS crews.
The air ambulance responded to two ATV crashes over the weekend. The first was late Saturday afternoon at McLean Creek, about 45 kilometres southwest of Calgary.
STARS flew a 24-year-old woman to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary after she sustained traumatic injuries in an ATV collision.
The woman was in serious but stable condition.
Shortly after that call, the helicopter was dispatched to the Waiparous area, about 60 kilometres northwest of Calgary.
In that case, a 31-year-old man was reported to be in critical, life-threatening condition after a quad crash in the early evening.
He was also flown to Foothills Medical Centre.
STAR-1 (Calgary) has been dispatched for a scene call emergency in the Lake Louise, AB area.

The boulder caused traumatic injuries and the man was reported to be in serious condition.
