City police issued a stern warning to Calgarians walking alone at night after the medical examiner identified Tara Anne Landgraf as the woman found dead in the southeast community of Ramsay.

The 37-year-old's partially clothed body was discovered Sunday morningat the intersection of Burns Avenue and Alexander Street.Police believe she was the victim of a sexual assault, but the cause of deathstill hasn't been determined.

Staff Sgt. Kevin Forsen said Tuesday thateveryone should be more vigilant about personal safety, especially when walking city streets alone.

"Stay in busy, well-lit areas and avoid dark, deserted places. If you are suspicious of someone, trust your instincts. Scream or use a personal emergency alarm to attract attention."

At least three Ramsay residents heard a woman cry for help early Sunday morning, but no one called police. Forsen urged people to immediately call police if they are a witness to a crime.

Policedon't believe Landgraf's death has any connection to the death of Wendy Marie Hewko, a 48-year-old woman found dead near the Cushing Bridge last Wednesday. But officers are looking for anyone who may have seen either woman during the last hours of her life.
