Murder and kidnapping charges have been laid against the third and final suspect in the fatal shooting of a Calgary man who was killed in an Eau Claire parkade in June, according to Calgary police.

On Tuesday, Mahad Barakobe was arrested and charged in the death of Benjamin Virtucio, who was killed in what police have called a targeted attack.

After Canada-wide warrants were issued in June, police arrested two men: Abdullaihi Barakobe, 26, and Mehdi (also known as Eddy) Al Khouzaii, 22.

All three men face charges of second-degree murder and kidnapping with a firearm.

Two accused are brothers

On June 6, just after 8 p.m., police responded to calls of gunfire in Eau Claire.

When they arrived, Virtucio was found dead in the underground parkade at 200 Barclay Parade S.W.

At the time, investigators said they believed the killing was related to drug trafficking.

Abdullaihi and Mahad Barakobe are brothers, according to police.

The three accused are in custody and have a preliminary inquiry scheduled in February.
