A boil water order was issued for the Town of Canmore Saturday evening, following intense flooding across southern Alberta.

Alberta Health Services is advising residents of Canmore to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before any consumption.

People can also buy bottled water.

Water used for bathing or laundry does not need to be boiled.

It's not clear when the advisory will be lifted.

Canmore is the latest community to issue a boil water order.

Orders are also in effect for Exshaw, Lake Louise Ski Resort and High River, as well as all users of the Harvie Heights and Kananaskis water supply systems.

A boil water advisory has also been issued for the Siksika First Nation.
