Nobody was hurt after a fire at a Calgary daycare on Saturday.

At noon, the fire department responded to a 911 call after passerby saw smoke billowing out of the window of a two-storey building in the 11800 block of Elbow Drive.

Fire crews arrived and saw both smoke and flames coming from the daycare.

Firefighters brought the fire under control but remained at the daycare into the afternoon to put out hot spots. Police and EMS were also on scene, providing support.

There were no injuries and all occupants of the building were able to get out safely.

Aladdin Daycare is located on that block. The business' website states it cares for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and Grade 1 through 6 students, Monday to Friday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
