Warrant issued for suspect in fatal New Year's Day shooting in northwest Calgary

Police are searching for a man suspected of killing a Calgary man on New Year’s Day in the community of Ranchlands.

Police are searching for a man suspected of killing a Calgary man on New Year's Day in the community of Ranchlands.

A Canada-wide warrant for manslaughter has been issued for Samiul Islam Turzo, 20, in connection with the early morning shooting death of Stallone Leonard Mark Clare, 31, police said in a release on Friday.

Another man suffered non life-threatening gunshot wounds in the shooting that happened in the 6900 block of Ranchero Road N.W.

It is believed Turzo has left the country, police said.

He is described as five feet five inches and approximately 160 pounds.
