Police identify victim of fatal shooting in Forest Lawn

The Calgary Police Service have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Forest Lawn late Saturday night.

Jesse Shaye Troy George, 30, of Calgary was found in medical distress after police responded to reports of gunfire near 52nd Street S.E. and Memorial Drive.

He was identified following the completion of an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with with information to come forward.

"This shooting happened on a very busy road in our city and it is likely that someone has information that could help solve this case," said Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta of the homicide unit in a press release. "People may have unknowingly witnessed something or may even have dashcam footage that could be useful to investigators."

Police are particularly interested in dashcam video from motorists driving near Memorial Drive and 52nd Street S.E. late Saturday, between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.
