Calgary police investigate suspicious death of woman in her 50s

Calgary police have labelled the death of a woman in her 50s as suspicious, after officers found her dead in a residence Saturday morning. (CBC)

Calgary police arrested someone as they investigate a suspicious death that occurred in the Pineridge area Saturday.

Shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a home in the 100 block of Pinehill Road NE about dead person in the residence.

Responding officers found a woman in her 50s dead at the scene, police say.

An autopsy is set for Monday, but police have deemed the death suspicious.

Police arrested one person in connection to the death, but did not say if charges were laid. The force also did not release any identifying information of the person.

Calgary police continue to investigate.
