Calgary street sweeping begins Sunday
Sweepers have already been out on the roads
Though street sweepers are already out cleaning up Calgary roads, this year's program officially kicks off on Sunday.
Crews have 15,000 lane kilometres to clean, and the city hopes to be done cleaning up the gravel, dust and rocks by the beginning of June.

"The program is important because it's great for the environment, it keeps dirt and debris from getting into our air system, as well as into the storm drain systems," said spokesperson Brittany Kustra.
Crews will sweep seven days a week, compared to last year's four-day schedule, she added.
Last year, the city started ticketing and towing vehicles left on the street when a "no parking" sign was present. That practice will continue this year, and if you leave your vehicle on the street during the times and dates specified on community signs, you could also be ticketed.
That fine will amount to $120, up from $50 last year.
