A school official has been charged after police say he assaulted a student on a school bus near Cardston, Alta.
Official facing assault charge following investigation has since resigned
A school official has been charged after police say he assaulted a student on a school bus near Cardston, Alta.
The 44-year-old man has since resigned his position with the Westwind School Division.
Police say the incident happened May 10 after a school bus broke down. A replacement bus was dispatched driven by the school division official.
While most students had been transferred to the new bus, an incident occurred between the suspect and a boy on the broken-down bus. Police say the man struck the boy.
RCMP concluded the investigation May 27 and have charged the man with one count of assault.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in a Cardston courtroom July 25.
