David Gray, Angela Knight and the whole Calgary Eyeopener team will be at Fratello Coffee Roasters Friday morning to launch the CBC Calgary Food Bank Drive and the annual One Gray Knight coffee sale.
- Stop by Fratello (4021 Ninth Street S.E.) from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. to donate and get your caffeine fix
For $20, coffee lovers can get a 3/4-pound bag of specially roasted Fratello coffee and a limited edition mug. Over 1,000 bags of coffee were generously donated by Fratello.
More places to donate this weekend:
- On Dec. 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., volunteers will be accepting donations in the lobby at CBC Calgary's new home, 1000 Veteran's Place N.W. in Parkdale. (Don't go to our old building on Westmount Blvd! Nobody's home.) To avoid getting a parking ticket, pay to park in the lot, or just pull up in the roundabout and call or text 403-921-1248. A volunteer will come out.
- Donations are also being accepted at the Calgary Farmers' Market at 510 77th Ave. S.E. in exchange for a picture with Santa. That's on Dec.1, 2, 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m
- Hear some great choirs and carolers and help the food bank at the Knox United Carol Festival. It runs Dec. 2 to Dec. 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Knox United Church at 506 Fourth Street S.W.
- Donations can also be made online.
The CBC Calgary Food Bank Drive is on from now until Dec. 22.
Last year's drive raised $1,342,439.87 and 21,275 kg of food.
