3 pedestrians injured when flatbed truck slides or rolls down hill in northeast Calgary, EMS says
Woman in her 20s sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries
Three pedestrians including a 2-year-old boy were injured when they were reportedly struck by a large flatbed truck in northeast Calgary on Wednesday.
EMS responded to the 500 block of Fourth Avenue N.E. just after 11 a.m. after receiving calls that a large flatbed truck had either rolled or slid down a hill.
According to police, it struck a number of parked vehicles, injuring two adults and one child.
The pedestrians were taken to hospital, police said, while EMS confirmed a woman in her 20s sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.
The child's injuries were not believed to be serious, while the third victim sustained minor injuries.
Roads in the area were expected to be closed for some time as officers investigated.
