Two charges pending against Dustin Paxton have been stayed.

Paxton is the Calgary man convicted of brutally assaulting his former business partner and roommate over an extended period.

He was found guilty last year of beating and sexually assaulting the man, who was finally dropped off at a Regina hospital disfigured and emaciated.

Paxton faces a dangerous offender hearing next month.

The two stayed charges were for assault and assault on a police officer.
