Stage West's 200th production among many options this weekend
The kids are back at school and we're getting back into a routine, so it might be a good weekend to take in our city's arts and culture scene.
The Homestretch's Susan Holzman has rounded up a few options for you.
Huge produce sale
The first day of fall isn't until Sept. 22, but fall produce is already available and really delicious. The Calgary Produce Marketing Association Harvest Sale at Heritage Park is on this weekend and there will be fresh fruits and vegetables at low prices.
If you buy a lot of produce, a carry-out service is available for a fee, but you may just want to bring along a backpack or a wagon if you think you may buy a lot. The funds raised support local charities.
It's open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Here are all the details.
Theatre options
Theatre season is back in full swing and Alberta Theatre Projects has a new play that launches next week called The Last Wife.
It is a modern retelling of the marriage between Henry VIII and Katherine Parr. She was the sixth and last wife to the English king.
Alberta Theatre Projects recommends it if you like shows like The Tudors, House of Cards and Game of Thrones.
The Last Wife starts Tuesday and here's some more information on the production.
Theatre Calgary kicks off its new season this week with a play that has Calgary's 2013 floods at the centre of the narrative, it's called Blow Wind High Water.
That production runs until the end of September.
200th Stage West production
Stage West presents its 200th production, a musical called I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and it premiered off-Broadway in the late 1990s and ran for over a decade.
It has since been translated into multiple languages and staged around the world. It's a show that looks at relationships and dating, marriage and kids.
The production starts Friday at Stage West Theatre and runs until Nov. 12.

BrazilFest
BrazilFest 2017 runs Saturday at Eau Claire Market. The event includes Brazilian dancing and music performances, and capoeira, which is a martial art that combines dancing, acrobatics and music.
The whole event is catered by Minas Brazilian Steakhouse.

Last Inglewood Night Market
Inglewood Night Market wraps up its season Friday.
There are more than 50 vendors selling items like vintage clothing, handcrafted soaps, as well as antiques. They have musicians performing, plenty of food trucks, and outdoor seating if you just want to kick back and take it all in.
It takes place in Inglewood just off Ninth Avenue and 10th Street S.E.
