A bridge washed away during flooding in southern Alberta last month has reopened, once again connecting the communities of Black Diamond and Turner Valley.
Crews have been working 20 hours a day to rebuild the Highway 22 Sheep River Bridge, which connects the two communities.
Tony McGuey, who lives in Black Diamond, said the detour took nearly an hour.
"Half of my friends live on the other side of it. It’s a nuisance. It’s like having half your town cut off," he said.
