The Calgary Police Service is investigating a death that happened early Saturday morning in the Mayland Heights area.

Around 2:30 a.m., police were called to an apartment building in the 1800 block of 14th Avenue NE for reports of a disturbance in one of the units.

Responding officers found a man dead inside the apartment, police say.

The man's death is considered suspicious and an autopsy will be scheduled, police say.

If the autopsy finds the death was a homicide, this would be Calgary's fourth homicide in 10 days.

"This has been an extremely busy week for our service," Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta said in a news release, adding that homicide investigations are complex and require help from multiple police units, such as forensics.

No suspect descriptions are available yet. Police are reviewing evidence, including CCTV and witness statements, to determine the series of events that led to the man's death.
