Calgary police seek 2 possible witnesses to homicide near downtown CTrain Thursday

Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in his 40s during an altercation by the CTrain tracks in Calgary's core Thursday evening.

Calgary Police have identified the victim of a homicide in the city's downtown as 49-year-old Russell David Younker of Calgary.

Police say the victim was stabbed to death Thursday during a fight on 11th Street S.W. near the Kirby Centre at the CTrain tracks.

Calgary police say no arrests have been made, and they are still investigating the homicide, which happened around 6:20 p.m. near the west side of 11th Street S.W.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two possible witnesses in the case.

The victim collapsed at the scene, which was at the CTrain tracks near the Kerby Centre, while the attacker ran away, and the victim later died in hospital.
