Late-night hit-and-run crash on Stoney Trail leaves woman dead
Police say crash happened near Nose Hill Drive N.W. around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday

One person was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Stoney Trail late Tuesday night in northwest Calgary, police say.
The crash happened around 11:50 p.m. on southbound Stoney Trail N.W. near the Nose Hill Drive interchange.
A white 2019 Toyota Corolla, driven by a woman in her 50s, was heading south in a lane close to the median, police said in a release.
It's believed the Corolla was then struck by an unknown vehicle, which did not remain at the scene.
Evidence gathered at the scene suggests that the offending vehicle was likely a semi-truck and trailer combination, police said.
Shortly after the initial crash, a roadway maintenance truck with two occupants arrived at the scene and started giving medical aid to the injured woman.
Moments later, a black 2018 RAM truck struck a post and cable barrier in the median, and then struck the woman, before hitting the back of the roadway maintenance truck, police said.
The woman was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The other drivers and passengers were not injured.
Anyone who might have witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident, is asked to contact police.
