A young Calgary woman will go to trial in October accused of killing her 26-day-old son.

Daniel Herchak was rushed to the Alberta Children's Hospital in August, 2010 and died later the same day.

An autopsy determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Shelby Herchak, 19, had initially been released on bail, but that was rescinded after she breached conditions.

The second-degree murder trial before judge and jury is scheduled to last two weeks.
