Mount Royal University breaks Guinness World Record for toy pistol fight

Mount Royal University broke the Guinness World Record for the largest toy pistol fight Monday night at Wyckham House on the school's campus.

601 people battled it out, until the darts ran out

It was a scene straight out of the movie 300.

Fierce warriors gathered at Wyckham House on the Mount Royal University campus for the battle of their lives.

Except in this fight, the weapons were made of plastic and rubber, and everyone was fully clothed, and it was really more of a bruisebath than a bloodbath...

But when the air cleared, a record was broken.

Members of the university ski club succeeded in their mission to break the Guinness World Record for the world's largest toy pistol fight.

The previous record set in 2010 at Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 2010 with 462 people.

MRU shattered that record with 601 gunslingers — both students and members of the public. Participants were encouraged to donate to the Michael Huras Memorial Scholarship fund, named in honour of the ski club co-founder who passed away last fall.
