1 dead as police investigate northeast Calgary shooting

A man has died after a shooting in northeast Calgary on Thursday night, while another is fighting for his life. 

Police say there is no current threat to the public

A man has died after a shooting in northeast Calgary on Thursday night, while another man is fighting for his life.

The Calgary Police Service said two adult males sustained life-threatening injuries during a shooting in the neighbourhood of Coral Springs.

One man died of his injuries and one is still in life-threatening condition, police said.  

The investigation began after emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Coral Springs Cir NE, near the intersection of 68 St NE and Coral Springs Boulevard NE. They were on scene at around 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said the homicide unit is now investigating.

As of Friday morning, no arrests had been made in the case. 

There is no current threat to the community or the public, police said.
