Some Calgary river pathways close ahead of wet weather
Calgary area expecting between 5-10 mm of rain
As the Calgary area get ready for five to 10 millimetres of rain, the city says it is closing multiple pathways. The Glenmore Reservoir will also be closed, as of 6 p.m. MT Monday, to recreational use until further notice.
There is also a risk of thunderstorms daily through to Wednesday.
The city released a statement on Monday advising Calgarians that no overland flooding is expected, but some pathways may be closed along the river due to some low-level flooding.

"Specifically, the Elbow River is expected to receive 30 millimetres of rain today and 15 millimetres tomorrow," said a city release.
"This is expected to increase the flow rate into the Glenmore Reservoir to 120–170 cubic metres per second (cms) by noon Tuesday. The seasonal norm for the Elbow River above the Glenmore Reservoir is 30 cms."
Calgary's water services will be lowering the water level in the Glenmore Reservoir to make room for the incoming flow.
River level advisories can be monitored on the Alberta government's website.
The Calgary Fire Department is also reminding Calgarians to avoid boating activities and to stay off both rivers in the city.
