$50K food bank donation from Suncor kicks off annual fundraiser
2015 marks event's 30th year
The CBC Calgary Suncor Food Bank Drive 2015 kicks off today, and the Calgary-based energy company got the ball rolling this morning with a $50,000 donation.
Cathy Glover, the company's director of community investment, said Suncor is proud to continue its long-standing association with the CBC's 30th annual food bank fundraiser, particularly in a year that has seen so many Calgarians suddenly out of work and needing help.

Calgary Food Bank CEO James McAra said the donation will go a long way in what's shaping up to be a tough several months ahead.
"I love the commitment that Suncor has to making things better here in Calgary," he said.
Every $1 donation to the food bank can be turned into $5 worth of food, McAra said.
