Police seize more than $50K worth of cocaine and fentanyl
Police have arrested a man in Calgary who is suspected of supplying cocaine and fentanyl to the Lethbridge area.
Members of Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) found $50,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl, as well as a handgun and body armour, when they executed two search warrants in Calgary on May 1.
Investigators believe a 28-year-old man was using a storage locker in a Calgary industrial area to package and press the drugs and then supply street-level dealers in Lethbridge, officials said in a release.
Investigators seized a cocaine press. The suspect is facing 11 drug and weapons related charges.
ALERT is an integrated unit that brings together officers from nine police forces to target organized and serious crimes.
