Tennis ball-sized hail spotted near Drumheller, but thunderstorm watch lifted for Calgary area

Calgary was under a severe thunderstorm watch early Monday evening, but that has now been ended, as well as a thunderstorm warning for Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds and Sundre, Drumheller and Three Hills. 

Tennis ball-sized hail was spotted southwest of Drumheller in the late afternoon.

The severe storm watch for Calgary is for conditions of strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Environment Canada has warned of tennis ball sized hail in the Drumheller region, and there is a severe thunderstorm warning for that area as well as Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds and Sundre. Calgary is under a severe thunderstorm watch. (Environment Canada)
