Calgary police have arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly scammed his way into seniors' homes to steal their wallets and jewelry.

Police said Thursday they have charged the man with one count each of break and enter, theft and fraud, but more charges are pending.

Earlier this week, police issued a warning about a man who had asked people if he could use their telephone because he was locked out of his house and his car had run out of gas.

Once inside their homes, the individual distracted the residents and then stole items, police said.
