Downtown Calgary nightclub no strange to vandalism
A man has been caught on video surveillance throwing eggs, garbage, and mustard at a gay nightclub in downtown Calgary.
The owner of Twisted Element, Rayjean Fafard, said this isn't the first time his club has been vandalized since opening 11 years ago. But this time a middle-age man has been targeting the club twice a day for the last two weeks, he said.
"Why does it have to escalate to this point? What did I do to you to make you so angry to do this to me and my establishment?"
Calgary police say they've have identified a person of interest, but no charges have been laid. Investigators are trying to determine whether this is a hate crime and investigators are questioning the mental state of the man.
