2 teens dead, 2 in hospital after single-vehicle collision near Springbank
All occupants of the vehicle were females between 16 and 17 years old
Two teens are dead and two in hospital after a single-vehicle crash west of Calgary early Thursday.
Cochrane RCMP say the crash was reported around 12:30 a.m. on Range Road 32, between Township Roads 250 and 251A, which is near the Springbank airport.
When emergency crews arrived, two people were already dead, according to a news release.
The other two occupants of the vehicle were taken to Foothills hospital, where one remains in life-threatening condition and the other in stable condition.
All the occupants of the vehicle were female and 16 to 17 years old.
Range Road 32 was closed for several hours as RCMP investigated the collision but is now open.
RCMP told CBC News that the vehicle had rolled off the road.
It is unknown whether speed or alcohol were a factor, said RCMP.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or send a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
