The much-anticipated report from the royalty review panel will be released in early January, a few weeks later than planned.
The much-anticipated report from the royalty review panel will be released in early January, a few weeks later than planned.
Recommendations from the panel, chaired by ATB president and CEO Dave Mowat, was supposed to be released by the end of December.
Premier Rachel Notley said Thursday the government needs a little more time.
"We want to be sure that we get it right, that we don't kick something out the door that's not ready," she said.
Notley said the plan will be "highly sensitive" to the province's current economic situation due to low oil prices and will take Alberta's climate change policy into account.
The panel is looking at whether the rates paid to the province by oil and gas companies should be changed.
