Hot cars headline Edmonton Motorshow this weekend
Organizers say Edmontonians will be among the first in Canada to see three new luxury vehicles
Ever dreamed of driving a $2-million McLaren P1? Keep dreaming — but you can see one this weekend at the Edmonton Motorshow.
The McLaren is the most expensive vehicle on display, but show manager Eleasha Naso said there are other surprises in store for luxury vehicle fans.
"Edmontonians will be some of the first in the country to see three spectacular vehicles, including the Lexus LC, which is quite a show stopper, and the Bentley Bentayga, their SUV for the Bentley line, and the Rolls-Royce Dawn, which is quite a sight," Naso told Edmonton AM.
Around 130 vehicles will be on display at the classic car auction, which opens for viewing at noon on Friday. Saturday will be the day to see the "hot ticket" cars, Naso said, including Mustangs from the 60s and 70s.
Are you more excited about the mini donuts than the cars? Naso said there's something for everyone, including the latest in electric and fuel-efficient vehicles, and booths, video games and balloons for children.
Naso said attendees should also expect to see the latest and greatest in automotive technology.
"It's not just about safety and those aspects anymore, because most of the brands have all of that covered and they're very safe," she said. "It's about making sure you're connected, not just getting from point A to point B, but that your point A to point B is enjoyable and easy for you to stay connected to your life while doing so.
"Every year they have new features that are just making it easier and easier for drivers to spend time in their vehicles."
The Edmonton Motorshow runs until Sunday at the Edmonton Expo Centre.
