Keeping your kids in sports equipment and programs is no easy financial feat.

The Canadian Youth Sport report has released its list of the most expensive sports for children in the country.

In first place, costing parents more than $2,000 per child every year, was water skiing.

Hockey came in second, costing about $1,600 every year.

CBC’s Lisa MacGregor spoke to one hockey dad about where the money goes, and found out what help is available for parents whose budgets are over-stretched.
