Wetaskiwin day home worker charged after child pornography investigation
ALERT's Internet Child Exploitation team searched Tykes and Tots Day Home on Thursday
A 40-year-old man who worked part-time at a Wetaskiwin child-care day home has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
Tykes and Tots Day Home in Wetaskiwin was searched by ALERT's Internet Child Exploitation team on Thursday with help from Wetaskiwin RCMP.
The day home has been operating since 2001, ALERT said.
Investigators are looking to speak with families who may have used the day home in the past. Previous clients are asked to contact ICE investigators at 780-509-3371.
Police say there is currently no information to suggest children at the day home were victimized. But in the interest of identifying potential victims, ICE is actively exploring the possibility.
Reilly is accused of downloading and accessing child sexual exploitation materials.
ICE began the investigation based on referrals from the U.S.-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Reilly was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
