The Municipality of Jasper and Parks Canada are taking firmer measures to protect the park from wildfires, after the Jasper Wildfire Complex destroyed 30 per cent of the townsite in July 2024.

The U.S. Commerce Department has decided to raise anti-dumping duties on Canadian softwood to 20.56 per cent, with B.C. lumber organizations calling them unjustified, punitive and protectionist.

Alberta Health Services says 18 people have tested positive for presumptive E. coli — three of whom also tested positive for a parasite that causes amoebiasis — in an outbreak at Saskatoon Farm. So far, 235 people have reported symptoms linked to this outbreak.
