3 new Ontario songs you need to hear this week, Nov. 7 edition
Check out some great new tracks from DB Cooper, The Shanks and The Retroaction
Happy November, Ontario.
As the nights get longer and cooler, check out brand new music from DB Cooper, The Shanks and The Retroaction as part of reporter Adam Carter's weekly spot from In the Key of C on CBC Radio 1.
You can listen to Adam and host Craig Norris talk these picks in the player above, and listen to the tracks right here.
The Retroaction: Little Strange
This video from Hamilton's The Retroaction is one of the coolest things we've seen in a while. It's totally interactive — just move your mouse around on the screen or swipe on your phone to take control of the camera.
Really, this is the equivalent to sitting in a garage band's jam space while they rehearse. Except now you can do it in your bathroom.
The Shanks: Bridge of Sighs
Love Queens of the Stone Age? Good, then you'll love Orangeville's The Shanks.
Bridge of Sighs is actually a rerecorded version of an older tune from their new EP called X. And while these guys are just a drum and bass duo, don't let that fool you — the sound here is huge.
DB Cooper: The Road
DB Cooper just released this video for The Road, which should look instantly familiar to anyone who frequents Steeltown.
The strength of a good pop-rock tune is usually the vocals, and that's totally the case here. They carry this track from start to finish.
Thanks for listening this week. You can hear Adam during In the Key of C every Saturday evening at 5 p.m. on CBC Radio. In the Key of C can be heard across the province, except for the GTA. Hamilton listeners can hear this segment in the audio player above.
