Police searching for break-in suspect after Oakridge Landscaping Co. workers found company truck running

Early in the morning on Saturday, a man climbing out of a window at a company he doesn't work for encountered a couple of people who do work there.

Two workers arrived around 5:30 a.m. to the Oakridge Landscaping Co. on Highway 20 and noticed a company truck running.

"When they went into the building there was a guy crawling out the window," said Staff Sgt. Rob Hersics.

That guy told the workers his buddy, reportedly armed, was still inside. The workers backed off and called police.

The man left the property in a gray Volvo XC90 SUV, Hersics said. Police are still looking for him.

A police K9 unit was brought in to find the second su, in case there was a second person hiding inside. However, it seems the first man may have told the workers that "just to throw them off," Hersics said. "Indicators are that he acted alone."

The owner of the landscaping company is going through inventory to see what, if anything, was taken. The office was ransacked, according to police.
