Raccoon with rabies found in Hamilton after raccoon-dog fight
A fight between two Ontario dogs and an aggressive raccoon in the back of an animal control van has led to the discovery of the first documented case of rabies in a raccoon in the province in nearly a decade.
The City of Hamilton says it is "increasingly vigilant" and is urging "the public to contact Hamilton Animal Services if they see any distemperament in wildlife," according to spokeswoman Ann Lamanes.

Obama: San Bernardino shooters example of terrorism's 'new phase'
The husband and wife who shot up a holiday office party this week in Southern California committed an "act of terrorism designed to kill innocent people" after "embracing a perverted interpretation of Islam," U.S. President Barack Obama said Sunday night, adding that the massacre begs for changes to U.S. weapons laws and other action from Congress.
"So far we have no evidence that they were directed by a terrorist organization overseas," Obama said in a rare live TV speech from the Oval Office. "But it is clear the two of them had gone down the dark path of radicalization, embracing a perverted interpretation of Islam that calls for war against America and the West."
SNL's Mike Myers outs Ryan Gosling as Canadian
Saturday Night Live took a very Canadian turn last night during its opening monologue when guest host Ryan Gosling sang about Molson beer, the seal hunt and tuques.
Gosling began the show by telling the audience it was great to be back in his hometown of New York City for the holidays.
