Parts of Concession Street closed for summer
Road work season is officially in full swing, and for part of Concession Street, it is going to last the whole summer.
Part of Concession Street will be closed beginning next week for ongoing construction, and it will not re-open until September.
The closure will extend from Upper Wellington to Upper Wentworth Streets. The road will have local and pedestrian access, but all other traffic will be diverted around the closure, including HSR.
Three bus routes, the 23–Upper Gage, 24-Upper Sherman and 25 –Upper Wentworth are detouring around the area. The local community will have access to a shuttle bus that runs every 20 minutes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
There are also a number of other construction projects along Concession Street. Lane restrictions are in effect on the street from Upper Wentworth to East 25th, and East 25th to Upper Sherman. Those projects are water main upgrades, expected to be completed by December and September, respectively.
