Man taken to hospital with serious injuries after 'targeted' Brantford shooting

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, police say, after a "targeted" daylight shooting in Brantford.

Police were called to the area of Colborne Street and Park Avenue around 1 p.m. Friday after reports of a shooting.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound, who has since been transported to hospital.

Brantford police are continuing to investigate, but say the shooting is believed to be targeted and not a "random act of violence."

Hamilton police were also called in to assist with the "earlier shooting incident," according to Const. Jerome Stewart.

Brantford police thanked the Brant County OPP and Hamilton police for their help with the investigation.
