Manhunt underway for St. Catharines man who stabbed woman in bank
The suspect fled in a grey van, victim is in serious condition

Niagara police are looking for a male suspect they say is armed and dangerous after he stabbed a woman in a bank and fled in a grey van.

The woman, an employee at the bank, is reported to be in serious condition in hospital.
Niagara police originally reported the incident as a violent bank robbery at an RBC branch on Martindale Road, but later said the attack was targeted.
Their concern for further violent was such that the St.Catharines hospital the victim was taken to instituted precautionary security measures.
Initially treated at the St. Catharines site of the Niagara Health System, she has been transported to a trauma centre outside of the Niagara region. Police did not say where.
Police have identified their suspect as Justin Kuijer, 43, of St. Catharines. He is wanted for attempted murder. Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.
Police say the man fled in a grey 2009 Pontiac Montana van, license plate BYTE392.
He's described as a white male, about 35 years old, with a tall, thin build. He has a beard and longer dark hair. He wore a black touque and coat, boots and possibly an orange sweater. There is a second scene that police say they are also holding as part of the investigation.
Anyone who sees the van, or has information, should call 905-688-4111.
