27 dogs, 5 cats and guinea pig among animals removed from Norfolk home after investigation
Woman charged with cruelty to animals, causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury

27 dogs, five cats and a guinea pig have all been removed from a home in Norfolk County on Sunday, provincial police say, following an animal cruelty investigation.
A pig, two donkeys and three horses were also taken from the property with the help of volunteers, according to OPP.
Police were called to the home on County Road 19 in Townsend around 11 a.m. after a passerby noticed animals in the ditch. Investigators say the driver stopped and called 911 after they were unable to find the owner.
Animal welfare services, with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, were also contacted to help with the investigation after several animals were found inside the home.
Police say a 63-year-old woman has been charged with cruelty to animals, causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury.
OPP are continuing to investigate.
