Police find meth after boat break-in attempt
Three people are facing a host of charges after trying to steal from a man's boat in Burlington, police say.
Officers were called around 2:48 a.m. Monday morning after a man saw two men trying to steal from his boat in the area of Edinburgh Drive, near Fairview and Brant streets.
"Officers quickly arrived in the area and with assistance of police service dog Jax, a stolen vehicle from Hamilton with three occupants inside was located in a parking lot off Prospect Street," a police news release reads.
The three were arrested, and a search of the vehicle turned up several stolen licence plates alongside break-in tools like bolt cutters, and four grams of methamphetamine.
A 42-year-old Hamilton man and a 38-year-old man of no fixed address are both facing theft and trespassing charges.
A 27-year-old woman of no fixed address is facing charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
