Supercrawl, Festival of Friends reveal music headliners coming to Hamilton this year

The annual Supercrawl arts festival in Hamilton will feature musical headliners Basia Bulat, Born Ruffians, Donovan Woods, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Steve Strongman and TOBi.

With 65 acts, Supercrawl says this year will be its biggest festival yet

The annual Supercrawl music and arts festival in Hamilton will feature musical headliners Basia Bulat, Born Ruffians, Donovan Woods, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Steve Strongman and TOBi.

The festival, on James Street North, will run from Sept. 12 to 14 and feature a variety of performances and vendors.

With 65 acts across three stages, this is "the most expansive roster" of musicians Supercrawl has showcased, organizers said in a news release.

Supercrawl announced a long list of musical acts Thursday, including:

  • AOIFE.
  • The Beans.
  • Sean Bienhaus.
  • Rachel Bobbitt.
  • Born In The Eighties.
  • Buddah Abusah.
  • Cadence Weapon.
  • Jean Caffeine.
  • Classified.
  • Sarah Church.

Organizers say they'll announce more about the festival in the coming weeks.

Festival of Friends scheduled for Aug. 1 to 3

Hamilton has a number of festivals happening this summer, including the musically focused Festival of Friends, which will be held from Aug. 1 to 3.

The Festival of Friends headliners were announced Tuesday morning. 

They include Sister Sledge, the group best known for the dance anthem We Are Family, U.S. hip hop group Sugarhill Gang, known for their 1979 track "Rapper's Delight," Juno-winning singer-songwriter Dan Mangan, who recently released a new album Natural Light, and Brett Kissel, from Northern Alberta, who has won several Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
