Health Canada has issued a recall for vitamins and medication sold by a Canadian pharmaceutical brand, according to notices this week.

The agency has warned consumers to avoid taking certain tablets of Vitamin D3, acetaminophen and telmisartan tablets from Quebec's JAMP Pharma.

"Affected lots may contain overweight or underweight tablets," read the notice for the vitamin D3.

The vitamin D3 recall covers the 10,000-unit tablets from several lot numbers listed on Health Canada's website.

It also covers the 325 mg and 500 mg doses of acetaminophen tablets. For the telmisartan, the recall includes the 40 mg and 80 mg pills.

Acetaminophen, known in some countries as paracetamol, is used to treat aches, pains and fever. Telmisartan is typically used to help with moderate high blood pressure or, for some patients, to reduce the risk of a deadly stroke or heart attack.

The notices did not say whether anyone has reported adverse health effects from taking the recalled medication.

Health Canada asked consumers to check whether their medication is included in the recall and speak with a health-care professional before they stop taking their dose.

Users with questions about the recall should contact JAMP Pharma directly, the notices state. Anyone who experiences side effects or complaints can report them to Health Canada.
