Biowaste Blockade in Merritt backed up by MLA, Grand Chief

When we first heard rumblings about Biowaste composting in Merritt, it was just a few hundred names on a petition.

Then there were demonstrations against spreading treated human waste on farmland in the area.

Now this week, protesters blocked the road leading to the BioCentral composting facility.

Yesterday, the NDP's Environment Critic was on the scene.

As was the Grand Chief of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs.

Daybreak's Samantha Garvey went looking to find out what they are hoping for next.
