B.C.'s Environment Minister was in Merritt late last week consulting with First Nations about the bio-waste facility in town.
Treated human waste from the Okanagan is being trucked to a composting operation in Merritt and some of the finished product is then spread on fields nearby.
Some residents and First Nations are fighting it because of the smell and fear of what it might do to the local environment.
For the past two weeks they've been blocking the road to stop those trucks from coming in.
