The Reynolds family, in the Barnhartvale area of Kamloops has four turkeys, four ducks and they've lost track of the number of chickens.
They consider all of their the birds to be pets.
But when one of their chickens, Ned the Turken Hen, came close to dying it surprised even them how much love they have for their feathered friends.
Daybreak's Samantha Garvey met up with the Reynolds family to hear the story.
